Mind Dump

Jonathan and I are flying out for the Boston Marathon tomorrow.  Since Jonathan’s the man, placing 21st overall in Chicago and I’m a one-time-only half marathon amateur, I’m choosing to go (not to run) but to root him and his brother on.  (plus I’ve never been to Boston so it’s a great excuse to go with.)

I think the pressure of coaching two sports in one school year is may be too much to handle (that or I need to learn to say “no” to other opportunities).  Although I love baseball and wrestling, I think next year I need to choose one or the other.  Who knows, maybe after the summer break is over I will be able to still do them both.  One day at a time Jordan.

The first every Blessing of the Bikes will be held Sunday April 26th at the church.  I’m so pumped that we are hosting this event for the riders in the community.  There will be pins for the first 100 riders, food, and fellowship.  If you ride, please come out for this event.  The event will be located at Highland Community Church, 2307 Broadway, Highland IL.  Let’s pray that it doesn’t rain (event held rain or shine but it will be better without the rain)!

I picked up a few new books to read.  For encouragement and spiritual growth I am reading, “How in This World Can I Be Holy?” by Erwin Lutzer and for fun I also picked up, “The Rook” by Steven James.  Both are great reads so far.

Summer is almost here.  I’ve lit up one fire so far, so many more to come!  Praise God for the warm sunshine!
