NOTES:  The biggest thing this week that we saw was a blessing was that we finally got our new keyboard!  I think Satan crawled in our old one and caused enough headaches for a year before the new one came.  We were constantly having issues with the old input switch, internal problems with the motherboard, and everything else under the sun.  So our worship committee decided to end the spiritual warfare and get a new one.  We went with the Yamaha YPG-635 from Guitar Center.  Although we didn’t use it for every song, it blended well with the ones we used it on.  It’s a great keyboard with lots of options.  We will be using it in many ways in the weeks to come.  The Yamaha is defiantly worth checking out (p.s. make sure you get the pedals that are sold separately).

Announcements and the first couple of songs went well, as they usually do.  They really blended well.  People seemed a little down but we picked them after the first song.  We then did our scripture reading.  The only thing we didn’t do is get the guy reading a mic.  It was hard to hear what he was saying.  If you have amplification, use it!  After the reading, we went into the offering with “A Cry in My Heart”, which went wonderful.  Our worship band sounded “tight” today.  That’s always a plus.

The message was about the “Keys to Effective Prayer”.  Instead of just finishing the service with a song and sending the people out, we concluded the morning by having the elders and pastors take a group of people in the service, gather them together, and pray with them over the material that was just taught in the message.  It was awesome to have an application step to actually do something with other people while giving a practical example to follow in the week.

We closed the service with “A Cry in My Heart” and let the people go.

It was an great Sunday with loads of encouragement!

How was your service?  What do you do in worship?

Starfield has some really good songs! I’m not familiar with “Cry in my Heart”. I’m going to check it out.
