Personal Growth Plan 2009 Revised

Jordan Muck
Personal Growth Plan
2009

*Thanks to Mark Artrip for kicking my butt and making me revise my own growth plan this year after reading his.  I needed it.  Here’s to a great year.

Marriage
•    Strong Sexual Life
•    Date my wife at least twice a month
•    Discuss the possibility of bringing a child into the world
•    Genuinely listen to her concerns and frustrations
•    Put her and her needs above everything else
•    Take a vacation away from the church whenever needed

Financial
•    Completely out of debt (besides school bills) by December 1 (impossible on our own but not with God’s help)
•    Discuss the possibility of buying a new motorcycle (Harley)

Physical
•    Work out three times a week for at least an hour
•    Complete Entire Highland Biathlon (Need to get new road bike)

Spiritual
•    Read Entire Bible by December 1
•    Eliminate any personal sin that manifests or interferes with spiritual life (Examples: Gossip, negativity, etc.)
•    Be positive, see God’s hand in everything
•    Be slow to speak, quick to listen, and slow to get angry
•    Pursue biblical discipleship
•    Pursue Biblical counseling
•    Leave Highland often to meet with other pastor/teachers outside of our community to “recharge” whenever needed

Ministry
•    To see our young people at GeNESIS actual grab hold of the Matthew 28 principle, get serious about their faith in regards to evangelism and discipleship, and do what the Word says (addition: lead that army).
•    Teach the people what the word of God says (avoiding unnecessary commentary) by giving real ways to apply it to their lives so that they will understand and use that knowledge to grow spiritually.
•    Pursue/accept more outside speaking opportunities.  Work on breaking into the speaking realm to effect the global church.
•    Seek visual and verbal guidance and direction from God on what to do personally and where He wants me to go/do in the future. (I.e. actively listen to God instead of just talk all the time)
•    Seek wisdom and discernment from those who have gone before me.
•    Establish a genuine love for people.
•    Pray daily for youth and individual peoples spiritual growth and development.
•    Be bold in communicating thoughts, fears, and ideas.  Don’t hold back.
•    Avoid praise from men and seek praise from God
•    Have more people over at our home, be a pastor, not a preacher

Ministry Numbers
•    25 Students in both junior high and high school programs (50 regular students combined total)
•    4 staff/volunteers
•    15 Students on missions trip
•    5 Students come to know the Lord
•    5 Students mentored
•    20 students going to conference/retreat
•    2 students committing to full time ministry

Intellectual
•    Masters of Biblical Studies completed by June 1
•    Read more: 4 books on personal growth/development/communicating, 4 books on preaching/teaching/ministry, 4 books leadership/discipleship/evangelism, 4 books on the church, and 4 novels.

Feel free to hold me accountable.  I could use it.

How are you going to grow this year?

What can I say except “Praise the Lord” that the young man who wrote that is married to my daughter. What a blessing to “read” his heart. Keep it up, Jordan.
