Sometimes the lack of participation in corporate worship is a reflection of a lack of private worship. Many people understand the the importance of prayer and Bible reading and yet lack an understanding of private worship. If we have been worshiping our Lord during the week, it should just pour out of us when we gather together as the body of Chirst. Sometimes it can even reflect a lack of private worship on the part of the worship team. At our practices, we emphasize the importance of worship in our private lives if we are to be able to lead others in worship. It's not a performance, it's not a show - we are facilitating others in worship. If our hearts aren't ready to do that, if we haven't prepared our hearts with worship during the week, then we are going to fall flat when we try to lead others.

I just gave Bethany a book for Christmas on what Tozer says about worship. I also have a great book on worship by David Jeremiah that you can borrow if you want.
