Thoughts on the Election

This year I have been bombarded with people’s individual views on which party to vote for.  It seems like everyone has an opinion on who’s the better man for the job.  As I sift through the election opinions and information that is coming in on the candidates, I have to wonder where my information comes from and if there is any validity in whats being communicated.

For example, think about why your voting the way you are this year.

Are you…

  • Voting based off FOX News, CNN, and/or any news other sites opinions?
  • Voting based off Josh McDowell, Rick Warren, or another Christian institutions opinions?
  • Voting based off information you received from a blog?
  • Voting based off the information you received from a talk show?
  • Voting based off the race or color of candidates?
  • Voting based on political party?
  • Voting based off information you obtained personally from another source?

Just think about it.  And while your thinking, I have some questions…

  • Can we vote on a candidate by answering one or more of these questions?
  • Should we vote on an individual by the information we received from these questions?
  • How can we know the information we received from the questions are true?

What do you think?

On any one of those questions there is no definite answer to them, a lot of this election is about trust. Who we the people trust more to do what is right. I do not think we can base judgment on a person with just a few question especially with the decision so important like choosing the next president. That’s why it is up to us to do more research.

Picking which president depends on the agreement on the issues and capability of being a good leader.
