I have been under the weather for the last couple of days so blogging has been light. I pushed myself super hard at GeNESIS Sunday night. When I got home I knew I was in trouble. I woke up Monday morning around 4:00 am only to find out my head was throbbing faster than heart beats and I couldn’t swallow. My whole body ached. Yuck.
I pushed through and learned some things about being sick. (Note: I don’t get sick often, maybe twice a year, and when I do it’s bad.)
- Thank God I have a portable office: I got just as much done, if not more while I was under the weather. However, it took twice as long to do it.
- Nothing good is on day time television: I found that out pretty quick. I shut the t.v. off after about 20 minutes of constant blabber and people bashing each other about how they live their lives. Thank God I don’t have cable! I found out that the more I turned the t.v. off, the better I felt. Imagine that?
- The bible comforts the sick: As soon as the television went off, I grabbed the word of God. God’s word not only relaxed my soul but helped me to learn that I will get better in His perfect time. (Example: “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” -Philippians 4:6-7)
- Being sick helps us learn how to slow down: We can push for so long but sooner or later we need to take a break.
- Everyone needs a good dog: Towzer (our dog) stayed by my side the whole time. I think if he had arms he would have gotten me something to eat or drink (or anything else for that matter).
I’m feeling better. Still not a hundred percent but good enough to get out of the house and back to the office.
Feels good.
