Christians forget what a power witness they can be for Christ. (Stay with me for a second.) As a body, we tend to be passive in our relationships with Christ. Christ tells his followers that they have power in the Holy Spirit. However, we often refuse to draw from that power because of how passive we are in the faith.
Don’t believe me? When is the last time it took you a solid week to get through one chapter of scripture? When is the last time you were simply blown away over a couple sentences you just read in scripture? A powerful witness for Christ is one who gains power from the Holy Spirit, daily. A cold witness refuses to see that there is power in the Spirit. They doubt God is alive because of their little activity in the body. Sadly, that’s a lot of the followers of Christ.
Everyone who has received the gift of the Spirit has been given a desire is to be on fire for Christ. It burns in the Christians veins. It’s how much we let the power work, how we embrace the Spirit, that shows how connected we are to the King. We weren’t designed to become cold, passive people. The Holy Spirits raw power lives in our bodies as pure, raw, untapped energy. Energy and power that we need to acknowledge exists and utilize.
A man of God, a powerful witness for Jesus, knows that the power of Christ is real. They use that power for spiritual impact, no matter what the cost, no matter what time it is. As a witness we must turn our vocabulary into, “I think so”, to, “I know so.” Know that God is alive and powerful. Know that He fuels your heart for kingdom work. I dare you to drop a match on the spiritual gasoline that is inside of you. Become people of action. Idleness is laziness. Become the witness God wants you to be. Make your life truly irresistible to the outside world.
No mater what the cost.
