Why do bad things always happen to me? How come everything in my life is falling apart? When does life get better? I’ve prayed about it, nothings changing? Where’s God at?
All good questions, all get the same answer.
At some point in life you have to take responsibility by taking action. Living under the sin cursed world is a bummer but the best part of being a Christian is having God right by your side. God always does his part. The real question is, are you always doing yours?
While prayer and listening to God are great things, the action step after prayer and listening is crucial to spiritual growth. God doesn’t show up to doorsteps with a wrapped prayer package containing everything you asked for. To really see prayer become a reality, you have to do your part. This might mean being faithful, this might mean taking a step of faith, it might even mean you put your faith in action. Putting aside miracles and acts of God for a moment, remember that there is always an action step.
If you have been praying about something for along time, stop and think, “What am I doing right now that would help make my prayer become a reality? How can I do my part?” You would be shocked to see just how much effort God is putting forth when you are actively doing your part. The real answers to our prayer are revealed in the action step.
Why do bad things happen to you? Maybe it’s because you bring it on yourself? Why is everything falling apart in your life? Maybe its because your not putting forth the effort to put the pieces back together? When does life get better? Maybe when you stop focusing on yourself?
Where is God at? The same place He’s always been, right beside you waiting for you to do your part.
