Excuses you make

Excuses teenagers have for a weak spiritual life or not being involved.

  1. I had homework or other things going on. (If you managed your time, you would have been alright.)
  2. I feel asleep (When aren’t you falling asleep?  Set the alarm!)
  3. I didn’t have time (Did you really not have the time or did you not make the time?)
  4. My parents wouldn’t let me. (Have a spiritual life?  If your mom and dad are not letting you engage in church or youth group activities it usually because of something you did to make them upset.  Don’t blame other people for your spiritual life)
  5. I had to work (this is another valid excuse but 95% of employers are cool to let you off work to attend church or a spiritual related activity)

Don’t forget that God said you can do all things through Christ.  I am reminded of Moses, the king of excuses.  He had all of his reasons in the world for not having a strong spiritual life and getting involved.  He just wanted to be left alone, to be an ordinary guy.  God saw huge potential in him and he sees huge potential in you, even with all of your excuses.  Moses stepped on top of his excuses crushing them under his sandal so that they never returned.  God used him to do great things because he worked on his weaknesses day after day.  He turned a weak spiritual life into a powerful ministry to reach people for the Lord.

Eliminate your excuses.
